Kortney, an apprentice carpenter with only a short time left until completion is taking the trade by storm. She is inspiring other women to take charge in male dominated trade industries.
It's a hard job to pull through and earn your ranks within the trade force, it's definitely hard work with numerous struggles along the way. Women only make up 2 percent of the industry also facing a-lot of sexism and job opportunities.
Kortney has risen to the occasion to prove to people everywhere that it can be done. She is a true fighter battling in her carpentry corner making steps for females in trades. Being a women you have to fight harder, work harder, put up with shit just to prove yourself.
“As for picking my particular trade, I grew up in a poor household and I was always the hand one in the family.”
Kortney is reaching goals with further studies after her apprenticeship, taking on city planning and engineering.
With big dreams Kortney aims to start her own company from the ground up, planning, designing, construction where the company can manage it all.
It is so amazing seeing woman progress through trades of this nature, making waves for other woman to follow. In doing so she has been noticed by the german company Stabila and is apart of the True Pro Ladies 2022 team. The company campaigns for female tradespeople in the construction industry sector worldwide.
